Exclusive: Shilpa Shetty opens up on why she started yoga

Shilpa Shetty is one of the fittest and gorgeous actresses in the tinsel town who swear by yoga. As the world is gearing up for the International Yoga Day, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty made many interesting revelations about yoga, its advantages and what made her practice yoga.In an exclusive interview with News24, 

Shilpa spoke in detail about the benefits of yoga and meditation. Talking in detail about yoga, Shilpa said that she started practicing yoga almost 18 years back when she was suffering from neck pain issues. The ‘Dhadkan’ actress revealed that she hired a yoga teacher to help her in curing the disease. But later, yoga became part of her life. And this is how she started practicing yoga. She said that yoga is an only holistic way of stretching, reversing aging and there are many other benefits.

During the press conference at her residence, Shilpa talked in detail about yoga and its benefits. ‘’I see yoga as science which belongs to India and it has become global now. People from all over the world are taking yoga lessons from India and are also monetizing it,’’ said Shilpa.

Shilpa further said, ‘’I am happy for the ‘Shilpa Shetty yoga app’ and the only aim to launch it is to promote it on a larger scale.’’ She added that people have now started taking interest in my app to learn yoga.

Shilpa further said, ‘’Yog is not just a practice but also a discipline for me. There is a flow in yoga. There is no need to be flexible to do yoga. Yoga helps in controlling and calming the mind.’’

‘’Health and wellness depend 70% on food and 30 % on yoga and exercises. There should be a fine balance between both. Lifestyles should be changed,’’ added Shilpa.

Talking about her professional life, Shilpa said she is all set to be on the silver screen once again. ‘’I have four scripts in my kitty and I will soon decide what to do next.‘’Sharing her message on yoga, Shilpa said, ‘’Please be aware of your health and follow the science.’’ ‘’Easiest way to gain fitness is to concentrate on your breath and results will be amazing,’’ said Shilpa.
