Get Fit In A Flash With These Quick Exercise Tips

Get Fit In A Flash With These Quick Exercise Tips Who has time to work out these days?  With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, finding an hour in your day to workout can be challenging.   And if you do find an hour, it’s usually spent relaxing!
Because of this, the whole notion of working out less, but getting better results is very appealing. Less time in the gym and more time doing the things you love sounds like a pretty good deal!
Luckily, research shows this may be possible. In fact, one of the two most popular ways to do this doesn’t even require any gym time!
Turn Activities Into Fitness
The easiest and arguably the most enjoyable way to burn calories and get fit is to turn everyday activities into fitness activities.  Going on walks with your family, playing fetch with the dog or partaking in any physical activity or hobby that you enjoy doing is a great way to sneak in exercise. You can measure your progress each day by wearing a pedometer and aim to improve the number of steps taken.
You don’t have to spend hours at the gym to get physically fit if you just lead an active lifestyle.  In fact, living a physically active life can have the same benefits as regularly going to the gym.
Find a hobby like gardening or a fun activity like playing basketball with the kids, for example, and start improving your health the easy – and enjoyable – way.
Work Hard To Work Less
When you do find yourself at the gym, the longer you’re working out doesn’t necessarily mean better results.  Think instead of intensity – the harder you work out, the less time you have to spend doing it.
Which leads us to interval training.  This type of training consists of bursts of intense exercise, followed by short rest periods.  For example, you could run on the elliptical at a fast pace for one minute, rest for 20 seconds, then repeat.  This type of training has been shown to burn more fat in a shorter amount of time – perfect for those who are time strapped but want the best possible results. Focus on total body exercises when performing intervals and make sure to vary the time spent performing them as well as the rest periods.
The work hard to work less principle goes beyond just interval training. Focus is another factor when you’re looking for a quick and effective workout.  Chatting it up and watching TV for extended periods of time in between workouts or sets will lower the intensity and make your workout a lot longer than it needs to be.  That isn’t to say you can’t talk to anybody, but if you’re pressed for time then it’s better to focus on the task at hand and get in and get out.
