Beyonce Knowles’ diet is adhered to low calorie and low carbohydrate intake. She takes in a lot of green vegetables every day and stays away from consuming alcoholic beverages, bread, plus meat. When she did her character for the movie “Dreamgirls”, Beyonce had to lose weight fat so she went on using the Maple Syrup Diet, otherwise known as the Master Cleanse Diet.

This kind of diet is extremely popular among celebrities who desire to lose weight before an important event or before an award show. The Maple Syrup Diet is made to cleanse the body from any toxic substances and eliminate any kind of cravings for alcoholic beverages, tobacco or drugs. Furthermore, it helps in eliminating cravings for junk food, tea, coffee and sugary drinks. With this diet, you need to drink lemonade made from fresh lime or lemon juice, water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper without any intake of any kind of food. The cleansing process usually takes 10 days to finish.

According to Beyonce, “My nutritionist suggested the only way to do that (lose a large amount of weight quickly) was the [maple syrup diet] fast”. As soon as it was over, I gained the weight back”. Beyonce Knowles’ diet at that time was kind of cranky for her because other people within her surrounding were eating donuts and cookies while she was just taking in lemonade juice.

For Beyonce Knowles’ exercise regimen, she does 30 minutes of cardio exercises followed by 45 minutes of free weights. She runs at least 5 times in a week, completing four mile jog in just 40 minutes. Once a week, she does yoga classes to strengthen and tone up her body. “Every time I take a (yoga) class, I want to cry. I don’t know if it’s because I’m relaxing, or if it’s that by the end of the class, your body can do things it couldn’t do in the beginning, so you feel accomplished and emotional. It’s therapeutic” says Beyonce.

Included in Beyonce Knowles’ exercise regimen are biking and dancing which are two of her favourite ways of working out and having fun at the same time. “I workout five times a week. I get up in the morning at around 8.30. I eat my cereal and I let it digest, then I do cardio for half an hour, followed by free weights for about 45 minutes” she says.
